20cm Table lampshade.

Hi, thank you for your interest and I hope you will love this lampshade as much as I do. They are made with love in my home studio in Devon.

Each lampshade is made from a variety of patterned, striped or plain cloth some of the fabric used is pre-loved which brings its own character to the lampshade. I make ribbons of different widths which are then stitched together along with Satin ribbon to make each individual and unique cloth which is then turned into your lampshade. Each shade has its own character. You can turn the lampshade 90 degrees revealing a different combination of colours, patterns, textures and ribbons.

As can be seen in the photographs the material edges have been deliberately kept raw so that small frayed edges give added character, texture and shape to the overall effect of the lampshade.

The lampshade is :-

20cm / 8 inches in Diameter
18cm / 7.1 inches High

Technical Details
The lampshades can be adjusted from use in the UK to Europe by simply removing the central ring where the frame attaches to the lamp stand.

This fitting will fit the standard bayonet cap (BC) lamp holder which is the most common type of lamp fitting in the UK today. It can also be used with Edison Screw (E27) lamp holders, most common in Europe.

For me It’s the cloth that starts the story.
I am drawn to the colour, pattern and the feel of the cloth. Then as you handle it it is the way the cloth moves and falls. Then you notice how patterns and colours sit together complimenting, highlighting or sparking off each other and ideas begin to form. You see in your minds eye how patterns and colours come together forming the overall look. It’s a lovely process that is full of questions and what ifs that have to be answered and in the process a new Lampshade or lampshades evolve.
