This is a near copy of a 1938 Kem Weber 'Airline' chair, a design commissioned by Walt Disney for his studios. Originals are rarely seen, one recently making over £13,000 at auction.
The changes to the design are minor measurements and a different curve to the seat.
The frame is in oiled beech and the upholstery is a very durable, and easily cleaned, faux suede.
This frame can be made and upholstered in any wood or fabric you choose.

Though made past the peak of the Art Deco movement, this chair clearly owes it's striking 'floating' seat to this heritage. I love the minimalist way the forces are opposed to enable the cantilever to self-support; sturdy, yet slim and simple. The explosion of similar designs in the fifties show that this was ahead of it's time, and remains a contemporary look, even 80 years later.
It is so comfortable, I'm making one for myself too !
