Lapis and gold has been a time-honoured pairing since the time of the Egyptians, and these gold filled earrings are an affordable way to add a bit of luxury to your outfit. They will pair well with a gold or blue bead necklace, or with their bold almond shaped ear wires they make a striking accessory on their own.

The stones are lapis lazuli briolette drops, wrapped with gold filled wire and suspended from almond shaped gold filled ear wires. The total drop length from the top of the almond shape to the bottom of the stone drop is 35mm, the stone itself is 12mm long.

What does ‘gold filled’ mean?
Gold filled jewellery lies somewhere between gold plated and solid gold. With gold filled wire and findings you still have a layer of gold over a base metal core, but because of the way the gold is bonded to the core you get a much thicker coating than you do with gold plating. This makes it much more durable so it shouldn’t flake or wear away with normal wear, unlike plated jewellery, and it is a much more affordable alternative to solid gold. It is also sometimes known as rolled gold.
