The Edison Lamp Collection is reminiscent of an era when production focused on craftsmanship over mass production and individuality over conformity.

Using only the finest cuts of planed English Oak timber sectioned into the key casing components, dove tail joints and finer detailing are carefully cut to ensure a robust design and crafting.

From the effective bakelite on/off rocker switch, down to the vintage brown, two core, FIMKO certified cable attached wth a 13amp ASTA approved 3 pin plug. This lamp also includes:

- Hand woven 19 anchor classic squirrel cage 220-240v 60w – E27 bulbs with handmade ST64 tip.

- A 240v 5000w rotating bakelite, precision voltage dimmer to set the mood, to use as a bed side reading light or purely to enjoy the beautiful low glow of the hand-woven tungsten filaments.

The wood is hand sanded before a high grade lacquer is applied. Once dried, the lamp is gently polished to bring out the Oaks natural deep rich tannins and medullary ray lines, iconic with Oak.

The final Prestidge&Son labels are then hand screwed into place, the filaments are installed and the lamp is tested and quality controlled.

The collection of lamps are a reflection of prestige and luxury, where raw craftsmanship combines utilitarian lighting with exquisite filament art and dramatic fingertip light dexterity.

The first Edison Artisan Lamp was created as a one-off build. to design a functional light that captured the 19th century spirit of the Thomas Edison tradition, a piece that reflected as much about history as it did the craftsmanship.

Having found no existing lamp suitable and fitting to power the exquisite filament bulbs, Arthur, a life-long carpenter and joiner worked to develop the Edison Artisan Lamp range.

By sheer coincidence, in low light the Edison Artisan Lamp visually came to life, the precision voltage regulating dimmer exposing the beauty of the hand-woven tungsten filaments, framed by the ageless glass silhouette of the lamp itself, creating a truly stunning and evocative image.
