We have recently moved house, and I was totally busted as the full extent of my yarn and fabric stashes was revealed to my long suffering husband. I decided it was time to start using up some of the stock, and have vowed not to buy any more yarns or fabrics (other than for commissions) until a sizable dent has been made.
So I've been experimenting, and letting the pieces become what they want to (if that doesn't sound to woo woo). This is one result. My son's best friend recently got married, and we were too broke to buy them a gift, so I made them a pair of placemats similar to these. They were so taken with them, they immediately ordered two more and a matching runner for the table centre. I have since had a few other orders for placemats, so the stash is going down very nicely!
