The sushi dish has been cut from a block of weathered clay (left in the garden for a couple of months by accident) using a garden spade. The slab was formed a little feet added and fired in a green transparent glaze.
The result is a thick, heavy, knarly sushi plate, which is incredibly tactile and very pleasing to look at if you like Japanese pottery. I have paired a plate with a small carved dish for a sushi dipping sauce.
Approx 18 cm at it's longest point and the dish is 13 cm wide.
Please note that the bases of these items have been ground to remove excess glaze. See photos
