A pretty needle-felted heart motif, enhanced by hand embroidery, on a background of tweed fabric, forms the front panel of this pincushion.
A length of grey tweed, recycled from a wrap, has been felted (fulled). A heart motif has been needle-felted onto this panel using a blend of hand-dyed red fibres, overlaid with a layer of reclaimed, multi-coloured sari silk. The felted heart has been outlined in chain stitch in a red cotton thread. Decoration has been added in the form of French knots in a silver metallic thread.
The back of the pincushion has been cut from recycled, checked shirt fabric. The back and front panels have been blanket-stitched together.
The pincushion is filled with polyester wadding.
This pincushion is posted free of charge to UK addresses.

I have some lengths of recycled and fulled (or felted) tweed skirting. I also have a large collection of fibres - much of it hand-dyed and including wool, mohair and silk. I am enjoying needle felting and this pincushion is one of the resulting items.
