This little British garden favourite can be made by a beginner following the detailed, illustrated instruction booklet. Everything needed is included in the kit with the exception of a small needle and thread for sewing on the beads for the eyes.
The kit includes an initial lesson with practice fleece to get you going before you start making the robin. The hardest bit is making the wire legs and feet, but extra wire is included and if you find it too fiddly you can simply make the wires wrap around a branch on the Christmas tree or similar. The felting is relatively simple.
Packed in a sturdy cardboard box and tied up with string and a parcel label it look very inviting. Sadly needle felting is not recommended for very young children due to the very sharp barbed needles used.
Included in the kit are, full instructions, four needles in two different gauges, a basic sponge for working on, all the fleece you will need plus more for practice, beads for eyes and wire (and spare wire) for legs. The finished robin is about 7cm high.
One of the earlier kits I made to teach needle felting to absolute beginners.
