Item details

Base: 4 PLY 75% Super-wash Wool, 25% Nylon
Meterage: 400m/100g
Needle Size: 2 – 4mm needles.
Gauge (approx.) 28sts x 36 rows over 10cm/4” on 3.25mm needles.
Best used for: Awesome Socks or Mittens.
Aftercare: Machine wash at 30, with similar colours. Please do not tumble dry.

About the Base:
I lovingly refer to this base as ‘Hoof’ it’s worsted spun and really is a wonderfully strong, durable and comfortable sock yarn. I’ve tested this base to the max; my socks have withstood repeated washing and heavy wear. I am not easy on my socks. In my experience it is really hard-wearing, doesn’t felt and is well, just great.
All of my yarns are dyed in very small batches, with acid dyes and are non-repeatable colourways. I have tried to capture the colour of the yarn as accurately as possible in the photos but please remember colour calibration varies from monitor to monitor.

Good to Know:
I have not had any noticeable colour bleeding when I’ve washed my yarns, however this can happen. If you are mixing light and dark shades in your project, please be aware of this.

Ock Fair

All the colours of an autumn fair! Named after the Michaelmas street fair which takes place in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, the Ock Fair is apparently the longest street fair in Europe. By law (yes, law) it must be held on the Monday and Tuesday before the 11th October. They were obviously very strict on time in the 1340’s, please try and be a bit more relaxed about your social calendar.
