This flying elephant is sculpted out of paper mache and foam on a square canvas. His skin is made from a old, unwanted cardigan with each and every wrinkle hand stitched into place. He has a single vintage glass eye, eyelashes made from an old paintbrush, paper mache tusk and nails, and his flying goggles are made from leather offcuts and two curtain rail rings. I used ink to add depth and definition to his wrinkly skin and finished him off with a pink elephant tattoo in acrylic paint.
This piece is framed in a 15mm wide black canvas floater frame, 445mm x 445mm x 55mm. The piece is approximately 140mm deep in total.
