Description

With all the things I make I try to use wood that would otherwise go to waste or get burnt, This piece of wood came from an off cut of ash that I had after making a bowl and as it was only a small part I thought I would try to carve a small salt spoon to go with a salt cellar

The spoon shows off the different nature of the ash with some of the heart and sap wood visible where there are lighter and darker sections of the wood. After carving it I left the spoon to dry and season before I sanded it to a fine finish and oiled it to bring out the nature of the grain
