This is a stained glass suncatcher handmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
Not my own design, a standard pattern but my own interpretation by the glass I choose for it.
In this case my choice of glass is pink, quite precious in fact as nice pink glass is hard to come by and comes at a higher price than other colours because of the more expensive elements needed for its manufacture..
This is a pair of ballet shoes enclosed in a ring to make a very pretty window hanging.
The shoes and their ribbon straps are made from lovely pink, strripy, baroque glass .The outer ring is also pink but a streaky clear cathedral glass. The feet and the infills are a textured ridescent clear glass which has a pink and turquoise sheen.
. All very pretty in pink.
This is 5 inches in diameter and I've framed it with twisted wire to make it strong and neat. It hangs from two points on the top by a silvery chain.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
The 5th picture shows the previous suncatcher I made to this design so you can see they are different.
At a Craft Market I was asked if I did Ballet Shoes. I had to say No.
I do now.
