A stained glass suncatcher enitely hanmade using the Tiffany copper foil technique. One of my very own designs and I think it is quite stunning and very special.
It is a striking 'picture' of a setting sun, a sunset, with sea and fields in the foreground. The picture is framed in clear glass with a pretty texture for good effect and then with a strengthening border of twisted wire.
The sun's rays are made from 5 different colours and textures of red and amber glass and the sun is a bright yellow. The fields are in 3 different types of green glass and the sea in 2, streaky and bright textured blue.
This is beautifully bright and cheerful and casts lovely colours when it hangs in the light of a window.
It is 5.25 inches square and hangs from a strong silvery chain which is securely attached at either side of the top.
My pieces are all unique. I use different shades and textures of glass to ensure that everything I make, even when to the same pattern, is different.
The 5th photo is of the previous setting sun so you can see that though to the same design, each is unique.
I designed this for a commission and liked it so much I added it to my catalogue where it has become quite a popular piece. Each is unique.
