A lovely pin cushion in Royal Stewart Tartan set into a sturdy bowl turned from beautifully figured pear wood. The total diameter of the pincushion is 133mm at its widest part and it stands 61mm tall After being sanded smooth the bowl has been finished with beeswax and polished to a soft sheen.
This tartan contrasts well with the reddish tinge of the pear wood grain. A practical and decorative gift to delight any keen sewer. The top of the bowl has a useful channel to hold needles, pins and other small items without them rolling away and a few pins are included to start them off. There is a lot interest in the piece of oak, with its undulating, pattern. The buyers of this item tell me that it has proven to be very useful and has gone down well when gifted.
