Send a little courage or recognition of someone's bravery for anyone going through a difficult time through illness or suffering emotionally or with mental health difficulties. Encourage someone who is being brave enough to face up to their difficulties and work through them, someone who is turning towards pain. Learning about compassion has helped me understand the vital role of courage and strength in facing up to and trying to alleviate distress and pain.

Inspired by the moments of great courage I have witnessed that come from deep within people who swear that they are not courageous.

The image is printed using Epson Claria HD Photo ink on archival quality matte photographic paper and attached to recycled card to form an A6 card (blank inside).

My digital paintings seem to almost create themselves from a combination of my mindfulness meditation practice, my self compassion practice, doodling, and reading texts on philosophy, neurobiology, psychology and poetry.

I have no formal training in drawing, painting or illustration and have only started drawing recently, mainly as a way to process the new experiences and information my mental health recovery path has brought my way.
