Formed from 2mm copper wire, this ring was hand beaten into three bands with the ends being filed to create this distinctive shape. It was treated with Liver of Sulphur to create its dark patina, carefully polished and finished with Renaissance Wax to protect the finish.
It is a UK size V and presented in a black ring box.
Despite the care taken to protect the finish, rings are subject to a lot of wear with normal use. You can help protect the finish (and reduce the chance of skin discolouration if you're prone to it) by gently wiping the ring with a soft, dry cloth before and after each wear, and occasionally polishing with a good quality car wax.
This ring was inspired by a silver spiral ring recovered from the large Pictish hoard at Norrie's Law near Largo in Fife, dated to 500-600 AD.
