Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
Cheerful white daisies have been stitched in wool on a hand-knitted background in a multi-coloured, self patterning yarn, to produce this attractive brooch.
A circular panel has been knitted from self patterning yarn, using fine needles to produce a close texture. A daisy motif has been embroidered using white pure wool and cotton threads. A scattering of French knots completes the design.
A metal washer has been covered in black jersey fabric which has been securely stitched in place. The knitted panel has been stretched over the covered washer and stitched to hold. This brooch sits nicely, due to the integral washer - it has a weight of about 12g and would look lovely on a cosy jumper, jacket or bag.The back of the brooch is neatened be a circle of felt both this and a brooch pin being stitched firmly in place.
Diameter: 4 cm approx
Pictured with other brooches in this design - each listed separately.
Please note: items from Lynwoodcrafts are intended for adults. This item is unsuitable for children as it contains a sharp pin and small parts may represent a choking hazard to children under 36 months.
Items of embroidered jewellery may not be colourfast - care should be taken to remove them from clothing before washing.
I have made brooches embroidering this motif on knitted, felted and woven backgrounds but previously in a square or rectangular format.
