Item details

A handcrafted water lily made from copper.

The lily flower is approximately 13cm across and the leaf is approximately 15cm wide.

The lily is made from soft copper pipe that has been flattened and then cut by hand to form the flowers and leaf. The copper has then been shaped to form the flower petals and the leaf with its bevelled edge.

The copper has been left unpolished so in time it will develop a lovely rich patina, which I feel complements the flower.

Every item I make, is hand cut and assembled making each one will have slight different.

My inspiration comes from my liking for working in metal and my love of flowers found locally.

Its a challenge to replicate the delicate qualities of plants and flowers into a metal form.
