In my work I like to transfer a vintage detailed image in black and juxtapose it with contemporary appliqué cottons and emboidery. I like the way that this often puts that very detailed image in a setting slightly at odds with its' normally associated surroundings. I really enjoy the process of making choices about pattern, colour, shapes and placement of the elements of the picture and I like the way this is all grounded around a detailed image from another era.
