What a pretty place you’ve picked to picnic!
Are those flowered hills rolling off skyward or weeping willow and spring flowers reflected in a calm lily stream?
It’s your picture, you decide.
56cm x 82cm
Mounted on jute hessian
Being a natural fibre, wool forms patterns that are repeated in nature, such as cloud formations, ripples of water, rolling landscape, grain of wood or contours of stone. I’ve used special wool dyes in combination with the natural colours of the wool. This picture is inspired by the colours of Monet’s waterlilies. I wanted to make a piece that recreated similar colours but in abstract form so the viewer can see their own water garden, spring meadow, wildlife garden or forest floor in it. It’s designed to be touched, it’s a very tactile piece.
