This original piece of textile art, designed and made by myself features one of the UK's most favourite birds, a blackbird, perched on top of an old victorian style lamp-post. You can just imagine him there singing his beautiful, varied repertoire.

Both the blackbird and lamp-post have been hand cut from a pretty floral fabric then carefully hand stitched onto a plain cotton background.

A black machine stitched border surrounds the image to frame it and the piece was then stretched and mounted onto an artist's canvas and a piece of mount board adhered to the reverse for a neat finish.

The picture may stand alone on a shelf, or is suitable for hanging.

The canvas measures 30 x 15cms.

Ideal for anyone looking for an original piece of textile art.

The inspiration for this design came to me whilst travelling on the bus near to my home one day.
I was looking out of the window when I saw the little feathered fellow standing on a victorian style lamp-post. The scene was so lovely I just had to make this piece of textile art to depict it.
