Made in satin padded and embroidered to accentuate the design elements and to provide a lovely feel to the touch and also protection for the bag contents.
I created the ice-cream van as an appliqué including my silk painted and batik fabrics, placed this on a shibori background and added watercolour ice-creams and lollies. I printed the bag from this design. The reverse side of the bag is a repeat pattern created from the ice-cream van, ice-creams and lollies. The wipeable lining is printed with the repeat pattern and an uplifting, "Have a n-ice day message." The bag has an ice-cream zip pull.
The bag can be made with a soft lining for use as an ipad/ tablet sleeve for an iPad mini. A personalised message can be added to an outside or inside panel of the bag. The bag is designed, printed and sewn in the UK.
The bag measures 24cms x 17cms.

Inspired by Ice-Cream vans which are always there on a sunny day, at that festival or event. I love the nostalgia of ice-cream through childhood years, the days when there are ice-cream are always the special sunny days, celebrations and parties.
I previously created an intricate ice-cream shop and ice-cream van picture in hand cut pieces of coloured paper as wall art. This bag design stemmed from that artwork.
