Set of two hand block printed cushion covers with the circus inspired Bageecha print on the front and bold stripes on the reverse. Bageecha is the Hindi word for garden and also includes Mughal block print inspired floral motifs.
The process of block printing begins with the design being hand carved into wood blocks. Each colour of the design requires a separate block. These block are then used to hand print the design onto the fabric. This design required the use of 3 blocks for the main print and a striped block for the reverse.
The colours of this print are inspired by the bright and intricate traditional designs that can be found all around the pink city of Jaipur, India where I love to spend time on my travels. For me it evokes the buzz and excitement I find inside the old city walls.
Due to the handmade process variation in the colour and print work should be expected.
