A pocket-sized sketchbook in warm hazelnut brown leather, with a hand stitched binding. Lined with Nepalese lokta paper printed with a natural leaf design.

The cover is a soft, supple leather in hazelnut brown, with a nice grained texture.

The leather is lined with hand-made lokta paper in chestnut brown. The leaf design is produced by placing real leaves onto the sheets when they are drying in the sun, after being coloured, leaving a paler impression of the leaves after they are removed.

The book is hand bound with ivory linen thread in longstitch.

There are 80 pages (160 sides) of smooth, creamy recycled cartridge paper. The pages are arranged in four sets and the book will open flat throughout. The paper will take pen, pencil or other dry media, also a little paint, so is suitable as a sketchbook, journal or notebook.

Book measurements: 13cm / 5 ins X 12cm / 4.75 ins.

I love to match up nice pieces of leather with lovely lokta or mulberry papers. The paper makes an attractive and durable lining for the book, giving a little bit of extra firmness to the covers and helping the book keep its shape.

This hazelnut brown leather and chestnut lokta paper are the perfect partners. I've used them to bind pages of creamy recycled cartridge paper, to make an ideal pocket-sized sketchbook, to carry around with you and make sketches, notes and lists on the move.
