Handmade block printed throw with light cotton flannel filling, suitable for year round use.
This print is a large motif repeat print based on a traditional heritage block printed with stripes on reverse. The inspiration for this print comes from my travels in Kerala, India. The banana leaf is often used in the south of India instead of a plate when serving a typical thali lunch. Completely waste free, the leaf with the leftover food is then fed to the cows! It is also used for food preparation. I have spotted these plants often on my travels and I hope this print evokes even a little of that tropical summer feeling!
Hand block printed the design is first hand carved into wood blocks which are then used to stamp the design onto the textiles. This design is a two colour design and so used two blocks. One for the outline and one for the colour fill.
Due to the handmade process variation in the colour and print work should be expected.
