Kettle Dyed Cheviot Combed Wool Top
This continuous length of Cheviot combed wool top has been hand dyed.
I use top quality dyes for light and colour fastness, and my fibres are rinsed and left to slowly air-dry.
The process takes around 4-5 days, a little longer for Merino types to get the fibres to really fluff back out.
8-15cm staple length
Medium quality high 20's micron
Cheviot is a great all-rounder, perfect for beginners and experienced spinners alike, and very good for felting.
Combed Wool Top has all the fibres combed parallel to each other, to spin a smooth, Worsted spun yarn.
Unlike roving made from carded fibre, Combed wool Top has all the nepps and shorter fibres removed during the combing process, leaving just the 'Top' quality fibres.
I ship my fibres loosely rolled in a resealable pack.
This is kinder to the wool, it will arrive open and fluffy ready to work with.
If you do wish to receive your fibres in a braid, please let me know when you are going through checkout and I will braid it for you.
