I have always loved an illustrated classic and imagined many a character brought to life by the words I was reading. A vivid imagination and a love of the beautiful marbled endpapers in many of the bindings made me dream of how the two could be collaged together and started me searching for the perfect juxtaposition of patterns and pictures with literary quotations. I love the way the quotes from over a century ago can still have relevance or raise a smile today.
