I saw this being demonstrated on a jewellery technics video - true repousse requires expensive tools that I don't have so this "poor man's" version was perfect for me - I had all the tools - a saw, a hammer and a block of wood. I really like the natural doming that occurs when you hammer the silver against the wood. I have made a couple of these now in different sizes and also used gold filled sheet they all look fabulous and the best thing about the gold filled is there are no problems with allergies which is great news for some of my clients who have allergy issues with the usual gold plate and who don't want the full cost of solid gold this is a great compromise. see " Gold filled repousse textured heart pendant" listed separately
