Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
A simple rose bouquet has been hand-stitched onto a hand-dyed fragment of vintage linen, in shades of rose pink and pale green, using matching hand-dyed threads.
An ACEO is an affordable and collectable, miniature work of art in a standard format of 2.5 x 3.5 inches. The background panel of this ACEO is the standard size.
A hand-dyed fragment of vintage linen, featuring a portion of the original ladder stitch hem, has been hand-dyed in shades of rose pink and pale green. Matching cotton, linen and hemp threads, hand-dyed at the same time as the linen have been used to stitch a simple rose posy. The embroidered panel is then tacked to the ACEO background, formed of textured board.
The ACEO will be posted to you in a protective sleeve, signed and dated on the reverse.
Hand-dyed, recycled linen, with part of the original ladder stitch hem, has been used as the background for this ACEO. Matching hand-dyed fibres suggested a simple stitched design to best accentuate the gentle matching colours.
