Hand painted canvas inspired by the cover artwork on The Jam's 1980 LP Sound Affects.
I've focused on the lettering used on the cover which references the design seen on BBC Sound Effect LPs.
Acrylic paint on canvas stretched on a hand-made frame measuring 32inches x 8inches x 1.5inches.
This painting would make a great present for any music fan and lover of classic sounds and design.

I paint graphic-based visual art, inspired by music, film and travel. I take classic record covers, film posters and transport art as a starting point, and hand-paint everything on canvas or wood. Commissions welcome!

I've always been a massive music fan, and a love of record sleeve design goes hand in hand with this. I've always loved doing hand lettering (I also work as a sign painter and window graphics painter) so I decided to combine my two passions. This was the 1st Jam LP I ever bought and I've always loved the cover artwork and it's nod to the BBC Sound Effect LPs. I really love the solid black capitals on the light pink background with the light blue drop shadow - it was a real pleasure to paint.
