Hi there, thanks for visiting my shop!
Re. delivery: Within UK I send everything direct to your door via CollectPlus as they're excellent at handling fragile goods. They usually take 3-5 days. Sending to the US, I either use ipostparcels, Landmark Global or UPS. Please note that Landmark Global is an economy service which tends to take 10 days. Please contact me directly if you want a quote for express shipping.
I send everything in double walled boxes, in a box within a larger box for extra protection.
A farmhouse style jug, with handle, neck and inside glazed in a white celadon glaze, which is translucent so subtle throwing rings show through. The main body of the jug on the outside surface is unglazed, showing just the raw clay. It is food and liquid safe and also dishwasher safe.
I threw this jug on my pottery wheel, using a toasted stoneware clay that fires to a creamy buff sandstone colour. After attaching its handle (pulled from the same clay) I bisque fired the jug to 1040c before glazing and firing again to 1220c.
5.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide at the neck, it holds approximately 400mls of liquid.
Slight glaze defect on bottom of the jug's inside (see photo). Still a worthy addition to any household collection, though I say so myself!
inspired by rustic farmhouse style pottery, which makes use of minimal glazing and often displays raw clay.
