The beaches on the Isles of Scilly which hold sea glass jewels are near places where humans have lived for longest...I met a fellow collector on one of the beaches who was about five years old. She asked me if I was looking for sea jewels and I told her I thought they were mermaids' tears...we wove quite a legend between us.
