Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
This tissue pouch cover, has been entirely hand-stitched and lavishly embroidered with a cottage garden design, producing a very pretty item to give as a gift or carry in your handbag .
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of 'eco' felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). Snippets of yarn, carefully retained from other projects, have been felted in clumps to represent the planting. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky to 'stabilise' the felting. Simple embroidery stitches, cotton threads, crewel, tapestry and knitting wools, have been used to create more foliage and the pretty flowers.
The case is lined, and backed, in a printed cotton fabric - blue harebells on a white background, backed with iron-on interfacing. The case is seemed with blanket stitch in blue crochet cotton, for durability. The case closes with a crocheted loop - using the same blue cotton thread, over a blue button.
Dimensions (excluding seems) - designed to fit a 'standard' pouch of pocket tissues commonly available:
Depth - 12 cm approx
Width -8 cm approx
