The Baltimore Oriole is such a striking bird with its orange and black plumage. A North American bird, it's such a pity that we don't have them here - how lovely it would be to see that bold splash of colour in our own gardens!
I've embroidered him on a double layer of calico and added a little bit of foliage and a branch for him to perch on. He's hand stitched using quality DMC threads and he's been laced (see the last photograph) around a piece of artists' mountboard to keep him stretched and smooth.
Although he comes unframed I've included a lovely black mounting which compliments him perfectly. The work and the mounting will fit into an A4 size frame (approximately 21 cm by 29.5 cm).
A lovely and unique piece of textile art for your own home, he would also make a wonderful gift for a bird/nature lover.
