A natural fibre dog slip lead made from 10mm hemp rope with sailmaker's flax whipping and a stainless steel slip ring. Natural colours, no dyes, comfortable for you and your pet. 5'6" 1m 65cm approximately without the ring end looped, giving an average of 3'5" 1m 4cm approximately between the bottom of the hand loop splice and the back slip ring when the dog is wearing it. Hand spliced and tied in Dorset. This size suitable for medium sized breeds, spaniels, labradorite etc. Bigger and smaller can be made for other breeds. Protectively packaged.

I am a traditional wooden boat builder and as part of this trade I make and use spliced rope items for many purposes. I began making leads for my own salty seadogs many years ago and have always preferred the feel of them to machine made leads. I'm a big fan of using natural fibres, both because they are biodegradable and because their use protects the livelihoods of people working in the growing and production of natural fibres around the world. And besides, they feel natural, are comfortable to use and are 'guilt-free'!
