An extinct volcano has given way to this secret cove. The perfect place for a pirate ship to hide.
Lots of sweat and tears winding the heavy old capstan to warp her in and much patience with the lead line to ensure that there was just enough depth to house them.
Silently she waits for a passing merchant ship. She is prepared to make chase at a moments notice.
The souls on board the merchant ship, have no idea that very soon they will be ambushed!
The pirates always seem to win. They always get their treasure.

They will remember this place.
Maybe they will need to use it again some day.
For one day, The Royal Navy may well be chasing the pirates and they might need to hide for a very different reason !

Whilst dried and stabilised the driftwood is exactly as I found it at the waters edge.
I just knew that this one had to hold a secret within. What better secret than a pirate ship, hiding from the world, in a secret cove?
I felt such a precious piece of driftwood deserved its own story and soon found myself sharing the imagination which inspired this unique piece.
