British and handmade . I love revealing the hidden beauty inside wood come inside and see what I mean.
The bowl and base of this decorative goblet are turned from Imbuya wood which has an almost dark chocolate colour, while the candy twist stem is turned from white beam. The diameter of the bowl of the goblet is 67mm and is 68mm deep, while the whole stands 217mm tall. As this piece is made from three separate turnings it did take some time to complete but the lighter stem does contrast well with the darker bowl and base. After sanding the item has been finished with beeswax and buffed to a soft sheen.
I am very pleased with the proportions of this piece and feel it will not only be a talking point when seen but also an object of interest and pleasure .Whilst not the simplest work to do it is pleasing when they go well. This would make a lovely gift for a new home or mothers’ day. It is very tactile.
