British and Handmade. I love to see what lies inside the wood, come inside and see what I mean ?
Beautifully figured bowl and base turned from White Oak and sitting on a candy twist stem which is turned from White Beam and on the rim underside there remains a small piece of bark which gives connection to the tree . The diameter of the bowl of is 130mm and it is 43mm deep, while the whole stands 106mm tall. As this piece is made from three separate turnings it did take some time to complete it but the woods do complement each other. After sanding the item has been finished with beeswax and buffed to a soft shine.
This white oak has finished to look like watered silk I am very pleased with the proportions of this bowl on a stem and would see it filled with wrapped sweets for the grandchildren ‘ equally it is very easy on the eye as a decorative item This would make a lovely gift for a new home, mothers’ day or 5th anniversary. It is very tactile.
