Our large razor shell earrings are handmade from sterling silver and 24ct gold. The technique used is an ancient Korean one called Keum boo, where gold and silver are fused together at high temperatures. The inspiration for these earrings came from razor shells that we found on a beach. The earrings measure 14mm by 53mm, even with their size they are still light to wear.
All our ear wires are handmade by us, using sterling silver. They are designed so that the earrings are securely attached, so no need to worry about lost hoops or earrings.
All our jewellery comes in good quality, attractive branded packaging. If you like the look of these earrings then you can find smaller razor shell earrings elsewhere in our Folksy shop.
As we were developing and learning about the technique of Keum boo, we came across some razor shells on a beach. We loved the shape and texture of the shell and we thought that it lent itself nicely to the Keum boo technique. It took us quite a while to work on the idea and develop the process but we were very happy with what we came up with in the end. These earrings are still one of our favourites. We make two sizes of these shells and both are available in our Folksy shop and also on our website, www.JandDField.co.uk
