Painted stones coming soon! Perfect for Christmas, presented in a small gift box. Stay tuned x
This is an original artist linocut print, NOT a reproduction.
I have printed the image using waterbased artist relief inks on Japanese Hosho printmaking paper. Each one is numbered, titled and signed in pencil underneath the image, in the traditional manner. The total edition run is only 20.
This listing is for the print only, which I will send protected in a cellophane sleeve, rolled in a cardboard postal tube.
The paper measures 20 x 27.5 cms.
If you would like a mounted version, I have several in my studio, so please just get in touch. They have been drymounted first onto archival, acid free mountboard and measure 22.5 x 28.5 cms. (The mount is 1.5 inches, or almost 4 cms, wide all round). The last photo is just to give you an idea of how it looks framed.
It has been designed, handcut, inked and printed by yours truly. These have been printed by hand using a tool called a baren, and so each print is unique and may vary slightly from the one in the photographs.
Please just get in touch if you have any questions and thanks for looking.
PLEASE NOTE: the sale of this or any artwork does not incur the right to copyright which remains the sole property of the artist. Please do not use my images without my permission, thank you.
I keep sketchbooks both for observational drawings, and ones for experimenting with new or different media or just ideas. I had made some drawings in one of those of a woman standing under the rain, and lately I've been working on several pieces inspired by idiomatic expressions. My work is usually a mixture of studies I make from life and my imagination, while printmaking, in various forms, is becoming increasingly appealing to me as a means of expressing my ideas. I find the graphic qualities inherent to linocut very satisfying as a way of creating a simple but bold image.
