I only make items in super chunky weight when I have access to really high quality yarns, and when I do - as Nina B regulars will know - I almost always make up this lovely pattern. This is a very thick, warm sweater.

The wool mix, yet easy care yarn, in lovely apple green with blue and black coloured flecks, has made up beautifully. I have finished it with four bright green wooden buttons. The overall effect is irresistible.

The pattern is simple and boxy with no bulky seams, and a cosy hood.

Adapted from a pattern by Sue Whiting, in my opinion one of the best crochet designers around.

Details:

- 30% pure wool; 70% acrylic
- Chest measurement: 22 inches
- Care: hand wash or gentle machine wash.

Here is Nina B''s most popular pattern in a stunning soft beautiful quality merino wool chunky, in classic cream with tiny flecks of brown and black, creating a tweed effect.

The pattern is simple, with a boxy body, minimal seams and a cosy hood. It fastens left to right with four classic dark brown wooden toggles.
