The Cyanotype process was developed in 1842 just after the invention of Photography. It was discovered by the English chemist Sir John Herschel. The Cyanotype works by mixing together two raw chemicals (Potassium Ferricyanide & Ferric Ammonium) and then exposing the image to a source of UV light.
This print is one of a kind. When thinking about where to display your image, I would suggest not in direct sunlight as this may cause the image to fade.
Please note there is a very slight movement mark on this print.
This summer I have been exploring Alternative Photography Processes and have been fascinated about using the sun to make my images. I have created a small body of work which focuses around the shapes and textures of my local countryside.
