The Vandyke Brown process is another form of early photography. This process dates back to 1842 and works by exposing ferric salts to light. Mixing together Ferric Ammonium Citrate, Tartaric Acid and Silver Nitrate you are left with a solution to coat your paper with.
This print is one of a kind. When thinking about where to display your image, I would suggest not in direct sunlight as this may cause the image to fade.
This summer I have been exploring Alternative Photography Processes and have been fascinated about using the sun to make my images. I have created a small body of work which focuses around the shapes and textures of my local countryside.
