Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
A very pretty pincushion, carefully created from vintage fabric, 'felted' to a commercial felt background using an embellisher machine, trimmed by a hand crocheted, picot edging.
Scraps of vintage fabric, have been combined in a patchwork design, and felted to a commercial felt background. The patchwork has been embellished and reinforced with simple hand embroidery in white cotton. The back of the pincushion is grey felt, commercially produced from recycled plastic bottles. The top and back panel are blanket stitched together using a white crochet cotton. A picot lace edging has then been worked into the blanket stitch. A back-stitched heart motif is stitched in white cotton to decorate the front panel.
The pincushion is filled with polyester wadding.
