I made this pouch out of a recycled Harris Tweed jacket, and lined it with cotton taken from a shirt in a navy and green tartan. It fastens with a plain blue zip. The Harris Tweed exterior is woven in a predominantly green colour, with elements of blue in the weave.
You can use this pouch for loads of different things. I use mine to bring some sort of order to all the flotsam and jetsam that swills around in the bottom of my bag. Make-up, travel cards, credit cards, odd coins, lipsticks etc. The tweed is quite thick so it would give good protection for any gadgets such as iPods.
Because each of my pouches started as something else (a wool kilt, a tweed jacket, a cotton shirt) they come with a unique numbered card that shows what they used to be, and where they came from – a sort of pouch birth certificate.
All fabrics are thoroughly washed before being reconstructed, and this pouch is machine washable on a wool setting.
