This Beautifully crafted cup cake stand is made from Welsh Ash, the ball is turned from reclaimed pitch pine ( it came from an old school near where I live and used to be a part of the dividing partition between the girls and boys!) The Legs are steam bent brown ash and the shelves are pale ripple Ash. It is as much a sculpture as a functional piece and could also be used as a display stand or shelving for favourite treasures or collections. It is a difficult piece to make with the 3 rectangular legs requiring precise shaping by hand to fit together tidily into the hole in the pitch pine ball.

I first dreamt up this design about five years ago and finally made it a couple of weeks ago to display at the 'Conwy Feast' food festival. I could make these any size and have a feeling they would look good in the corner of a room as display shelving or as a quirky bedside table.
