Be good on the night of the 5th of December or the krampus may pay you a visit!
This illustrated greetings card of the mythical Krampus, has been lovingly created using pen, ink, watercolour and digital editing.
This would make a perfect festive or Halloween card for lovers of folklore and fairytales.
Based upon the traditional German legend of Krampus who is said to visit on the night of the 5th of December (Krampusnacht). Children leave their shoes by the door and if they are good they receive sweets and gifts from St. Nicholas. His dark counterpart is the evil Krampus and naughty children receive twigs in their shoes instead of treats. It is also tradition for adults to dress as the Krampus and parade the town with music to celebrate this old tale. It has become a custom in some parts of the world to exchange Krampus cards called Gruss Vom Krampus (Greetings from Krampus).
Based upon an original illustration from my sketchbook. This has been printed on to high quality white card and has been left blank inside for you to write your own message.
This card can also be kept and later framed as a piece of decorative art if wished.
The card includes a contrasting brown recycled envelope, and cellophane wrap. The card size is A6.
