This Batt is 100gm of handpainted, drumcarded fiber that I produced in my studio.

I called it Easter Fluff because it reminds me of the filler put in the Easter baskets when I was a child in Canada to protect the eggs. The colour took me straight back there. It was a wonderful memory and I think it is a lovely, delicate colour.

It will spin and/or needle felt or wet felt. My favourite is too crochet the spun yarn and then felt in the washing machine. I have always gotten wonderful results. It depends on what you like!

When making batts I pick colours I love and handpaint them onto the fiber. When all the dyeing and drying is done, I will pick two strands that feel like a good fit. They look like they will blend well together. Then I put them through the drumcarder twice. Sometimes I will put them through a third time. It really depends how they look. I love the surprise when you pull them off the batt and really see them for the first time. I can be breath taking, or it can make you laugh! You just never know. But it is never dull! It is a process that I love.
