This listing is for a PDF KNITTING PATTERN for you to knit hats like those in the photographs. On payment, the pattern will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
Sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium and Large to fit baby to adult size heads.
The photographs show the hats knitted in Katia Artist DK but the pattern is suitable for all DK (8-ply) yarns and is a great way to use up left over yarn.

The actual pattern will be sent to you as an email attachment within 24 hours of receiving payment. It's quicker than by mail!

This cosy little hat is knitted in the round with alternating stripes of stocking stitch and reverse stocking stitch/stockinette. The hat can be knitted in variegated yarn, in one solid colour or in coloured stripes. The pattern is 6 pages long and contains a link to further ideas, photos and yarn requirements

Gauge: 23sts and 32 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch/stockinette using 3.5mm needles.

You will need five double pointed needles to complete the hat or a 40cm circular needle for the main part of the hat and double pointed needles for the decreases.

Skills Required: knitting in the round, knit and purl stitches, k2tog and p2tog decreases, yf and M1 increases. This would be a good project for knitters who want to try knitting in the round for the first time but the freedom to create interest with different coloured or textured yarns means it is also suitable for more experienced knitters.

The first version of this neat little hat was made for my husband,(in black, brown and green) to keep him warm at work. After making a few varieties in various yarns and sizes for other members of my family, the pattern evolved into the Lucia & Will hat.
