I set down to create a Christmas related design, and came up with a modern contemporary take on the traditional robin motif which is so omnipresent during the festive season. I wanted to create a different more abstract and graphical representation, and this was the result. Also the colours make it a more evergreen design and artwork rather than just a festive offering. The colours appealed to me as the design gives it a vintage feel which is such a juxtaposition with the modern graphical linocut design of the bird in a tree.
This was presented as a handmade card and it exhibited at the Trygve Lie Gallery, New York, as part of the Twitter Art Exhibit 2016 to raise funds for Foster Pride from 31 March-17 April.
